This was a renewal for my Canadian passport from USA. My only option was mailing my application as there are no passport offices here. Standard service is 20 business days for applications mailed from the USA but passport was received in less time.
Feb 14 – mailed application with UPS Courier
Feb 17 – application delivered to the Passport Program
Feb 21 – Credit Card charged
March 7 – Passport received in NC, USA

i chose the renewal option on line. i downloaded the necessary forms, completed them and sent my credit card payment and current active passport by fedex to Quebec as requested. the package went our on April 10 and was received by passport program on April 11, 2023. i will see how long from this point it takes to receive. so far very easy.
